About
This is the creepy page where I describe who I am, and you feel like you know me (oh you crazy Internet and your increased connectivity with your decreased face-to-face interaction!).

Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, I played soccer and tennis in high school while involved in student council, NHS and the yearbook before flying more than 1,000 miles to Austin, Texas for college. I’m a journalism senior, prepared (HA!) to graduate in May from one of the best public institutions in the country, the University of Texas at Austin. I recently took several multimedia classes that have left me better-prepared to handle the constantly-developing World Wide Web, and am looking forward to see how newspapers, politicians and businesses will use the increased connectivity of the Web to communicate their agendas. I’ve worked for The Daily Texan as a reporter and for two U.S. Senators (the Honorable Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and the Honorable Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas).
Filing this paragraph under “the part that makes me a human being” section of the About page, I’m a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac and U2–my first concert ever, in 2001. My favorite author is John Steinbeck (everyone needs to read “East of Eden,” and I don’t care how long it takes), although I also enjoy Nick Hornby and Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird.” I’m currently reading “The World is Flat” by Thomas Friedman. As for television, Arrested Development recently toppled Seinfeld as my favorite show of all time.
About this blog…
Jeety’s Joint started November 3, 2005 in my freshman year of college. In its defense, the Joint really began as a place for me to goof around and make my family laugh. Over the years a lot of the spoofs fell by the wayside, and in their place are satirical musings consistent with much of the blogosphere. Don’t be unsettled by the occasional serious post, either–they’re a rare breed, but they crop up now and then. Favorite topics include all things political and, well, anything I think is funny.
