I know I have been teasing you with the idea of having pictures on here but today that dream will come to fruition. The “old” pictures were taken by the former owner and is their stuff that you see.
The New
Well, the day has come. I have finished the downstairs bathroom. I am holding off on the pictures because Jackie is out of town and I would like her to see it in person before it is out on the net and and tens upon tens of people see it (Who am I kidding? Ten people don’t check this website). It really only took a week in all. I had a limited amount of time to work on the bathroom after work but this past weekend I really buckled down and got some work done.
Here is what all I did: First I took out the existing vanity only to find that they had orginally had vinyl down and then tiled on top of that and then tiled yet again on top of that. WHO DOES THAT! Anyway, I had to then tile the floor under where the vanity was. After the tile was down I taped off the room in prep for paint. After two coats of “Lament Blue” the walls were looking good. I then made my 20th trip to Lowes for the plumbing parts that I needed. Jackson and I spent quite some time on the phone discussing 1 1/4″ and 1 1/2″ line. So I got what I needed and headed home. After I had grouted the tile it was time to put the new vanity in place and connect the plumbing (this was the test to see how good of a plumber I was). In honor of my plumber buddies I drooped my pants to expose my butt crack. It seems to help them so I gave it a whirl. I turned on the water and to my surprise water came out and drained properly. After that I cleaned the existing grout, which sucks by the way. I then moved everything back into the bathroom and crossed it off my list.
Jackie returns on Thursday so I will try to get pictures up by the weekend. Until then…off to the upstairs bathroom!
For those of you that live under a rock or are stationed in foreign countries (mainly CPT Tim Wolford) the Pittsburgh Steelers are officially the NFL Champions. I will admit that it was not the best game that the Steelers played this year but they got the job done and that is all that counts. Much like Jeet, this is my first Super Bowl victory. I’m not sure if Jeet remembers the loss to Dallas in ‘96 but that was my last Super Bowl memory and it left a bad taste in my mouth. But now, that feeling has left and I get to bask in the glory of being champions!
And if you did not see on the news this past weekend, Greensburg, the town in which Jackie and I call home, changed their name to BlackandGoldsburg, PA. So, if you are so inclined to test the patience of the US Postal Service send a letter to our address but note the town as BlackandGoldsburg (I will not claim responcibility for any “postal actions” taken by Postmasters or delivery folk). Heck, you don’t even have to send a letter just send an empty envelope to test the Post Office.
And those of you looking for bathroom pictures, “Get off me!” Just kidding.
