Sorry about the long lapse in posts and pictures but Jack is keeping us busy during the day and up late at night. Since the last post we have had two fun adventures: the Bechdel Family Christmas and the baptism of Jack’s cousin Sammy.

On the 27th the Beaver Bechdel’s packed up all their gear and came to our house to celebrate Christmas since we weren’t able to get together on Christmas. We had such a great time hanging out with everyone. Jack was extra excited because he had some new laps and shoulders to sleep on.

Then, on the 28th we travelled to New Castle for the baptism of Jack’s cousin Sammy. It was a nice ceremony and it was the first chance many on the James side had to see Jack since arrival.

Jackie and I are really enjoying the time we have with Jack. Each day he seems to do something little that amazes us. We are slowly getting closer to sleeping at night too…

Merry Christmas to everyone! It was fun to spend our first Christmas together as a family. We would have loved to see everyone but last night was long and Jack and mommy needed some time to recover. However, that did not stop us from dressing Jack for the occasion.

For the most part we relaxed and spent quality family bonding time. While we missed seeing everyone today we are really looking forward to seeing and celebrating with everyone else later this week. Until tomorrow, enjoy the pictures.

We are finally home from the hospital!! While it was nice to have nurses around to take care of Jack it nicer to be home and in familiar surroundings. Since it is Christmas time both Jackie and I thought there was no better outfit to come home in than a little Santa Claus suit. As Jackie was being wheeled to the front door everyone pointed out how cute Jack looked…we have to agree!

After we got home Jack and mommy relaxed for about an hour and then Nana and Pappap Bechdel and Grandma Cookie and Pappap Norman came over to visit. It was nice to see them and spend some time together. Jack even got to test out his cradle that Pappap Bechdel made for his future grandchildren. He loved it!

The first 24 hours with little Jack has been amazing! It was so nice to see everyone that was able to make it to the hospital. Both Jackie and I really appreciated seeing everyone and celebrate the arrival of our little one.

After everyone left last night we were able to spend some quality bonding time with just the three of us. Jack headed out at 11:00 PM for a hearing test and he stayed in the nursery for a couple hours while mommy and daddy caught up a little on sleep (not much).

My buddy Brad and his wife Nicole stopped by this afternoon and Jack had fun meeting them. They are expecting their first in June and I don’t think Jack scared them.

We are heading home tomorrow and everyone is excited!

Both Jackie and I are so proud to announce the long awaited arrival of our little one Jack! After almost 20 hour of labor Jack made his debut at 11:04 AM and weighed in 9 lbs. 3 oz. and measured 22 inches! He was a whopper!!

To make a long story, and night short, Jackie was measuring 4 cm at both 3:30 AM, 7:00 AM. By 9:30 AM she was 10 cm and ready to push! Jackie did an amazing job and in one hour of pushing Jack came out to meet his family. All of the doctors and nurses have done an amazing job and they all love that Jack is a giant baby with big feet and hands!

I know I didn’t take as many pictures as everyone else in the room and when I get their pictures we will share them. But in the mean time here are a couple that we took.
