First Bath

Even though Jack’s umbilical cord fell off last week he finally had his first official bath yesterday night. Jackie and I were not sure how he was going to react to the bath but Jack did very well. He seemed to enjoy the warm water on his body and over his head. The only time he was a little cranky was toward the end when the water was getting a little cool.

1 Month Appointment

Today was Jack’s 1 month appointment and he wowed both mommy and daddy. We both knew that he has been growing but we did not expect him to tip the scales at 11 pounds 3 ounces!! He has also grown 3/4 of an inch. He ranks in the 90th percent tile for weight and 95th percent tile for length. Also, a couple of days ago he lost his umbilical cord. Tomorrow he is scheduled for his first official bath. No more sponge baths.

Jack is 4 Weeks Old!

It is so hard to believe that our little man is already 4 weeks old!! It seems like only yesterday that we were headed to the hospital to have him. It has been so wonderful to watch him grow these last few weeks. He is already getting so big and when we measured him yesterday he had already grown an inch! We go back to the doctor on Thursday to see how much weight he has gained. Check back for an update! Enjoy Baby Jack!

A Great Man

On January 9th, our family experienced a terrible loss when my grandfather, “Pappap”, passed away. He was an amazing man who will be greatly missed. He leaves behind 8 children, 21 grandchildren and 3 1/2 great grandchildren. Unfortunately he did not meet Jack before he died but Scott and I took pictures of Jack to the hospital and Pappap was very happy to know that he had his first great grandson. Pappap has been such an important part of our lives and words cannot express how much he will be missed.

We love you Pappap.

Jones Family Christmas

On Friday the Jones family traveled to our house to have our Christmas together. It was nice to see everyone and Jack’s uncle Bob and aunt Lindsey got to hold Jack for the first time. As usual we had lots of great food to eat and everyone had a great time. Great Grandma Jones even made it and was able to hold Jack for the first time.

We spent most of today just hanging out as a family. Since I have to go back to work on Monday (boo) I want to spend as much time with Jack and mommy as possible. We were even able to get a pretty good picture of an elusive smile.
