Congratulations to John and Caitlin on their beautiful wedding. Kevin and I had a wonderful time and it was great visiting with friends that we haven’t seen in years.
We have a few more people we want to congratulate.
Congratulations to Jenn, Emmett and big brother Evan on the birth of Annsley Elizabeth Baker last weekend.
Congratulations to Jason and Maria Househoulder on the birth of Tarasa Marie born Sunday morning. We haven’t had the chance to meet the new editions yet so hopefully we’ll do that soon and I’ll get some pictures.

This weekend we also got to spend time with Uncle Jeets, Uncle Scott and Aunt Jackie. Eli was so excited to see everyone that he was wound up for two days (see picture below). He loves it when everyone is home and he gets all their attention.

*a special thanks to Nana, Pap pap, Gramma and Grandpa who took extra special care of Eli while Kevin and I were out of town.

I can’t believe that September is almost over. Even though we’ve been having really nice weather, it really felt like fall today…cool weather, football games, putting away the summer clothes and cooking chili for dinner.

And even though it’s Sunday evening and I’m supposed to feel relaxed after a nice weekend home, I feel completely exhausted. Eli is really giving Kevin and I a run for our money these days.

I’ll spare you the details but all I have to say is that the “terrible two’s” have a whole new meaning. If Kevin and I seem more tired than usual these days, you’ll know why.

We had a nice weekend visiting with Scott and Jackie and we also got to spend time with Megan and Zack who came in from Columbus. Next weekend we will get to see Jeets, and Kevin and I are headed to Philly for John Voycik’s wedding. Eli will be spending the night at Gramma and Grandpa’s house. I’m sure i’ll have something to post about that! Have a great week!

First, I want to start off by saying, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAMMA! I’m sure Eli said it enough for you today! We love you.

Well, if you would of asked me a year ago if the merger between the monaca and center school districts was going through I would have said yes, no question. If you would of asked me 6 months ago I would have told you no. One week ago it was yes, 3 days ago no and now it is yes again…this time officially.

The state board of education approved the merger today 13 votes to 0. This coming after the Center school board voted 5-3 on Tuesday to continue with the merger even though the mercantile tax situation (among other things) hasn’t been resolved. Their vote shocked everyone because it seemed like they were doing everything in their power to keep the merger from happening. Anyway, it’s official and the only way we won’t become one district on July 1, 2009 is if the state stops it for some reason.

How do I feel about this merger? Well, I have mixed feelings about the whole thing because this last year has been spent not knowing what is going to happen. At least a decision has been made one way or the other. Who knows where I’ll be next year and what I’ll be teaching.

To say the very least, this merger is what is best for the students of monaca and center and the educational benefits for both districts will definitely improve.
Sorry for the typo’s…I’m tired.
